Aunt Arlene

$5.00

Hello flower series is inspired by my sweet English friend, Stacey-as “Hello Flower” is how she greets me every single time she sees me-it always warms the cockles of my heart! I LOVE flowers! I wear them in my hair, have a bouquet on my kitchen table every week from my amazing husband and draw them every chance I get!

When I dreamed up this printable concept, I envisioned my artwork traveling all over the world

SO…

Each art printable in this series contains artwork for 3 cards-one slimline, one A-2 card, one individual image and 2 sentiments.

Aunt Arlene was drawn to pay tribute to my Aunt Arlene. Aunt Arlene has faced tremendous challenges in her life and has always prevailed. The Japanese lantern plant is known and celebrated for it’s resilience, dependability, and beauty, much like my Aunt Arlene. The Physalis or Japanese lantern is a multi faceted wonder-it starts out as green ground cover, and in the fall it explodes in the most beautiful shades of brilliant orange, and then, they are transformed into the most gorgeous skeletonized lanterns surrounding a lovely round orange fruit. My Aunt is a multi faceted wonder. She wears her crowns proudly, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, partner, aunt, Anishinaabekwe, tribal elder, friend. Inside of her beats the dearest tender heart. She loves big and is loved just as much!

The month of November is the month of Aunt Arlene’s birth, and the month we focus on all that we are grateful for-we celebrate Thanksgiving or maybe Friendsgiving-the sentiment is the same.

I chose the Japanese lanterns for a few reasons, they are a natural wonder, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting celebration of the color orange, the color of Kidney cancer awareness, and M.S. Both challenges of people very dear to me.

Every piece of artwork on this website is original. I have drawn them all with a pencil and paper. This art printable is for your personal use only. You may sell completed handcrafted cards (not mass produced) created with them. You may not alter, change or manipulate in any way and claim it is yours. Please do not make copies for your friends. Please encourage them to purchase their own-each purchase supports me being a working artist. Please know that since the products I offer are instantly downloadable, no refunds can be made once your order is placed.
