Hello flower series is inspired by my sweet English friend, Stacey-as “Hello Flower” is how she greets me every single time she sees me-it always warms the cockles of my heart! I LOVE flowers! I wear them in my hair, have a bouquet on my kitchen table every week from my amazing husband and draw them every chance I get!

Meet Aunt Marge
Aunt Marge is another one of my father’s Aunts, my Grandma Chickie’s youngest sister, and my beloved great Aunt. I know, I know, there are a lot of us! Are you struggling to keep up?
My Aunt Marge is an absolute delight. Sitting at her kitchen table and listening to her reminisce is one of my favorite ways to pass the time and I do it every chance I get! She is a woman of tremendous faith, is strong and kind, gentle and hardworking, and SO funny, but in a very subtle way, you have to pay attention to receive those gems! Aunt Marge has inherited the family gift of engaging story telling and I am SO proud to say I have been the lucky recipient of many of those stories. I think her stories are so good, because she is such a exceptional observer of human nature, life around her and her love of family. She is a proud Anishnaabekwe, taking her role as tribal elder seriously, she is also a proud mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie, great auntie, friend, parishioner, piano player, and so much more. I have such sweet memories of spending time at her house as a child, full of cousins, aunts and uncles, filled with love and laughter. I love you dearly, Aunt Marge.
