Introducing Aunt Chris !
I chose snowflakes because I have a winter birthday-and I grew up in the great white north! Snowflakes are delicate and beautiful but extremely strong and that is quite simply…my Aunt Chris!
Aunt Chris is a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, grandmother, niece, Anishinaabekwe, tribal elder and so much more. Aunt Chris has a quiet presence like many in my family, but her strength is second to none. She is a mother to many daughters and I’ll bet each one believes that they are the special one, that is her essence she has the power to make you feel special and noticed. Even if it is popping into my Facebook live classes every now and again. That is what we are all wanting isn’t it, to be seen and to feel special. Aunt Chris is the most supportive cheerleader. She is present in SO many peoples lives. Every one wishes they had an Aunt Chris, and I am lucky enough to say I do!
I have always thought she is the most beautiful, as a young girl in those awkward middle years, I would look to her as an example, she has the best head of long straight hair (and still does!) and as a curly girl, I dreamed of having long straight hair. Don’t worry I have grown to love my crowning glory, but in the 70’s, come on, long straight hair was where it was at! She is the oldest, and I am the oldest. She is a good big sister. I strive to be a good big sister. She leads by example, and I strive to do that too.
